If you are in doubt as to whether or not your product is part of the recall just call 800-962-1413. I spoke to a customer service representative who was very helpful.

The explanation regarding the "KB", "AP", "FK" is very confusing as the package I have states: May 02 2013, FKA03 205 11:57. Does this mean this package was affected? I have a Kellogg's Variety 30 Pack (31.370z) with UPC 0-38000-70973-9 on the big box. There were three Mini Wheats Bite Size boxes included, two of which have been eaten (one remains). The Mini Wheats box has a UPC 3800021993, does this mean this one is included in the recall? If so, what does this mean for the ones that were eaten? Is this something we need to seek medical attention for?

What do I do????
-
My family already eat our box of Frosted Mini wheats last month and I recycled the box. (we enjoyed them!)
Have there actually been any cases where metal fragments have been found in the cereal boxes? Are the metal fragments clearly visable?
What is the potental Health Risk of eating these metal fragments? Should my family visit a doctor? -
We buy ours in bulk and have gotten rid of the boxes. How do we know, and how do we get reimbursed if we just throw them away to be better safe than sorry?
-
What about packages that have KBB, KBC, KBA, and KBBA? Are these included in this recall?
What about your Jumbo Club Packs? They contain three boxes of the mini-wheats. The UPC is different for these - 3800022051. -
I purchase this kind of cereal all the time. I just got a call from price chopper saying I had purchased a box that could have the mesh in it. Well I got the call a little too late. My son and father had already finished the box of frosted mini wheats. So hopefully there was nothing in what they ate. Kathy

In checking the UPC code and use by dates of my cereal boxes, it looks like I may fall into one of the recall groups. Except your recall says if it has KB with the date, it is recalled. What about if it has KBB with the date? Is this the same group or different.. -

Again, you make it very difficult to contact you to receive a replacement or refund! I have had to register, take a survey, complete a form, post comments...
And yet, I still have no information or the slightest confidence Kelloggs will reply or address the recall. The cost of cereal is not insignificant, and yet I feel you really don't want to do anything but tell people not to eat your cereal. The entire methodology for handling this recall paints a customer phobic image of your company.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Why do you make it so difficult to try and receive replacement or compensation for your recalled product? Most recalls involve returning to place of purchase. You make people register, take a survey, and complete a form with no information as to whether the consumer is to be provided with a replacement or refund. Very customer phobic, in my opinion.. -
-
I've already eaten through at least 5 or 6 boxes of the cereal with JUL 07(and 28) 2013 KB and UPC 3800031829. I have only half of one box remaining. Should I be seeking medical attention? I can't find any information on your site about what to do if you have possibly eaten fragments of flexible metal mesh.

Over the last two months I personally have eaten over thirty (30) boxes of KELLOGGS FROSTED MINI-WHEATS cereal. The store I purchased them from has pulled this type of cereal off the shelf. I have most of the box tops of the cereal I ate due to the KELLOGGS FAMILY REWARDS PROGRAM. Most of the boxes were included in the recall. I just found out about the recall yesterday, 10-12-2012, at 08:00PM. My question is that I have been very sick all week. I felt sick to my stomach along with mild chest pains. I have been so tired also. Just all around feeling sick. I have never felt this way before so could this be caused by eating the recalled cereal (which I did)?! Clinton from La Grange...

Kellogg's copy-and-paste response to our health concerns is entirely inadequate. Please help us feel better about this by providing detailed information such as... What kind of metal is involved in this recall? If Kellogg's can't answer questions about possible risks associated with this metal, at least let us do the research ourselves with that minimal information. Thank you.

We have a carton from the lot:
UPC 3800031921 - 70-ounce club store carton with Better if Used Before Dates APR 01 2013 KB - JUL 29 2013 KB
from Costco.
Are the "metal fragments" likely to be embedded in the product itself, loose somewhere in the carton/packaging or both?-
If you have product that is involved in the recall we will replace the cereal with a free product coupon good for any Kellogg product.
We are asking consumers with affected product to please Email Us at http://www.kelloggs.com/en_US/contact... to provide your name and mailing address as well as product information (if available). We strive to respond to your email within 48 hours

Thank you for getting this information out to the public but by now I think you've realized that the general public is not that familiar with production coding. It would have better served the public if you included an example of the box coding, high lighting exactly what characters in the code to be concerned with and what characters to ignore. The fallacy of knowing just bit you.

I just wanted to post this because my husband became very ill from eating the cereal. I didn't know about the recall until last night and I threw the two boxes that we had in the garbage because they matched the recall number codes. My husband ate the cereal yesterday morning and by early evening he was very ill. He didn't eat much all day because he didn't feel that great. I know you are thinking it might have been something else but all he had was a cliff bar after that cereal.

What would be the problems associated from eating the cereal if it contained pieces of metal? I'm pretty sure I had a stomach virus this past week; but I did throw up after eating a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats. It was unusual in that it was my third stomach virus in a month and I've eaten this cereal frequently.

I have eaten this cereal nearly daily and I know that I have eaten some of the contaminated cereal as I have a half used box that is on your recall list right now. My concerns, repercussions from the consumption of this contamination. What have been reported? What is the danger? What is the metal involved? Is the main concern metal and if so, size of the metal causing the contamination; visible pieces, shavings, dust like fragments, What? Is metal the only item of concern in this contamination. Need more information.

I'm not happy with the Recall hotline for the mini wheat cereal. I purchased 3 boxes of the recalled mini wheat cereal. When I couldn't get through your hotline after over 50 attempts, my husband discarded the 3 boxes of cereal. I finally got through this morning and was told I would only receive one coupon for your recalled cereal. Kellogg's has lousy customer service. I would like two additional coupons for mini wheat cereal to replace the ones I discarded. Thank you.
