We have initiated a voluntary recall due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part. Recalled products include only Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size with the letters KB, AP or FK before or after the Best If Used Before date. Products impacted are:

3If you are in doubt as to whether or not your product is part of the recall just call 800-962-1413. I spoke to a customer service representative who was very helpful. -
3The explanation regarding the "KB", "AP", "FK" is very confusing as the package I have states: May 02 2013, FKA03 205 11:57. Does this mean this package was affected? I have a Kellogg's Variety 30 Pack (31.370z) with UPC 0-38000-70973-9 on the big box. There were three Mini Wheats Bite Size boxes included, two of which have been eaten (one remains). The Mini Wheats box has a UPC 3800021993, does this mean this one is included in the recall? If so, what does this mean for the ones that were eaten? Is this something we need to seek medical attention for?

3My family already eat our box of Frosted Mini wheats last month and I recycled the box. (we enjoyed them!)
Have there actually been any cases where metal fragments have been found in the cereal boxes? Are the metal fragments clearly visable?
What is the potental Health Risk of eating these metal fragments? Should my family visit a doctor? -
4We buy ours in bulk and have gotten rid of the boxes. How do we know, and how do we get reimbursed if we just throw them away to be better safe than sorry?

5What about packages that have KBB, KBC, KBA, and KBBA? Are these included in this recall?
What about your Jumbo Club Packs? They contain three boxes of the mini-wheats. The UPC is different for these - 3800022051. -
3I purchase this kind of cereal all the time. I just got a call from price chopper saying I had purchased a box that could have the mesh in it. Well I got the call a little too late. My son and father had already finished the box of frosted mini wheats. So hopefully there was nothing in what they ate. Kathy

For those of us who've been eating this cereal daily, who may have ingested this metal mesh but haven't suffered any consequences YET, what signs can we look for to know if we need to see a doctor? Is this mesh small enough to pass through our systems, or can it cause internal damage? Is it toxic? We need to know. Thank you.

I saw the recall this morning, my box is part of the recall. I also did the magnet test not expecting to find anything, but it picked many metal fragment. I feel sick I know it's probally mental but now I am really conerned. What shoul I do?

Kellogg's form response is to direct us to the link where the doctor says the chances of contamination are low. Well, we've seen that contamination might already have occurred, so we need to know now... How dangerous is this stuff? What symptoms might alert us to potential internal damage or toxicity?

I have a recalled box that I have been eating. I have a very strong magnet and I pit it in my bag of cereal and there are MANY fragments of metal in my cereal. I think the problem is way more serious than Kelloggs is letting the public know!
Even if their is not a health issue by consuming the cereal I am having mental concerns about it. I can't get theough on the hotline!!!!!!!!!!

Besides two adults that ate half a box, an aging canine (over 12) also ate some of the frost mini wheats. What type of metal are we talking about? Canine is considerably smaller..-

Just out of curiosity, I crushed some Chocolate Frosted mini wheats on a plate. Placed a regular small magnet, and bits and pieces of the Chocolate mini wheats stuck to it. So a little concern that it isn't part of the recall. Will the recall be expanded to the other flavors after testing samples?

Only certain packages of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size are included in the recall. What you are observing is most likely a result of static electricity and not a magnetic attraction.

1The boxes in question have out in the market for quite sometime. ( I have purchased mine at BJ's wholesale club a few months ago prior to the recall)
Consumers, without know there were metal fragments, have been eating this for months now. Even though no report of injury has been stated, maybe there were symptoms people have been experiencing from eating small amount of metal particles that were wrongly identified because no one knew about this recall till now.
Extremely concern on how this will affect children. This is my 6 year old favorite cereal, and has been eating daily.
So would like to know what type of metal it is. -
